Is there a bluebird in your backyard?

Local bird watchers of any skill level can participate online in annual citizen-science research this weekend. Participants in the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) simply watch birds at any location for at least 15 minutes, tally the numbers of each species they see, and report their tallies online at www.Come January 9 and chip card driving licence would be available at the click of the mouse in Uttar Pradesh.BirdCount.org. The GBBC lasts through Monday, February 18 and is a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Audubon, with Canadian partner Bird Studies Canada.

There are hundreds of bird species in the San Bernardino Mountains, including pelicans, red-shafted flickers, bald eagles, wild turkey, violet-green swallows, hawks,The USB flash drives wholesale is our flagship product. yellow-rumped warblers, quail, chickadees, woodpeckers, warblers, lesser goldfinches and a variety of ducks.

This year, anyone visiting the GBBC website will be able to see bird observations pouring in from around the world and contribute their own tallies. Global participation will be made possible thanks toeBird, a real-time online checklist program that the Cornell Lab and Audubon are integrating into the GBBC for the first time this year. The four-day count typically receives sightings from tens of thousands of people reporting more than 600 bird species in the United States and Canada alone.

Participants will be able to view what others are seeing on interactive maps and contribute their tallies for ongoing bird research and conservation efforts. For the first time, participants will also be able to upload their counts from the field using the eBird BirdLog app for Apple or Android smartphones. To celebrate the new global reach of the count, developers of the eBird BirdLog app are offering regional versions of the app for 99 cents this weekend.

Cornell Lab director John Fitzpatrick said, “We’re looking forward to this historic snapshot of birds that that will be reported from around the world. We need as many people as possible to help build the wealth of data that scientists need to track the health of bird populations through time.”

It's Time to "Hold" the Line Against Injuries

Wrestling as a sport can be traced back to the ancient Olympics and has been practiced throughout the world in many forms and styles ever since. Today, wrestling is offered at various levels, from youth wrestling in middle school through high school, college and the Olympics. This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game. It's a sport for people of all sizes, both male and female, and competition rules that pair athletes against each other according to their weight class reduce the risk of injury. Nevertheless, injuries do occur. According to sports medicine specialist Dr. Victor Khabie of Somers Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Group, “Wrestling is an intense and demanding sport, requiring a great deal of muscular endurance and strength. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, And it is a contact sport in which the body is contorted into many different positions, putting the muscles and joints under great stress. Overall conditioning, proper technique and the right equipment are essential to prevent injuries.”

According to Dr. Khabie, who serves as team physician for several schools,A Coated Abrasives is an abrasive grain bonded to a flexible substrate using adhesives. “As with all sports, injury prevention must be a primary goal of all participants, coaches, and trainers. The wrestler should be coached and supervised at all times, stressing proper technique, proper equipment and discipline to avoid injury. Coaches and referees need to strictly enforce rules to encourage safe wrestling technique and the use of proper safety gear and equipment.

At both the high school and collegiate levels, wrestling ranks second only to football in injury rate. Most injuries are not serious and are similar to those seen in other sports: bruises, scrapes, strains and sprains. The most serious wrestling injuries affect the shoulder, knee and neck and are most commonly caused by forcing a joint beyond its acceptable range of motion.

The majority of upper body and shoulder injuries in wrestlers are caused by the combination of leverage and twisting during competition. Rotator cuff pain is common in young athletes, usually caused by muscle strains and tears that arise from overuse. An acute tear is more serious and might result in wrestling from falling on an outstretched arm. The most common traumatic shoulder injury in wresting in young people is dislocation, in which the head of the upper arm bone comes out of the socket, either partially or completely. Shoulder strengthening exercises, braces and, in some cases, surgery may be recommended to prevent recurrence.

Dr, Khabie adds that shoulder flexibility should be an essential goal of a conditioning program. “Wrestling-specific workouts for the shoulder should include both weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing exercises. Weight-bearing exercises such as push-up variations improve the stability of the joint. Also, rotator cuff strength, endurance and proper muscle balance should be addressed.”

Knee injuries constitute a significant number of all wrestling injuries. During a match, the knee may be twisted and turned in many different directions.

The ligaments supporting the knee are under a great deal of stress trying to hold the knee together and may be stretched or torn. The anterior cruciate ligament , the posterior cruciate ligament, and both the lateral and medial collateral ligaments are subjected to external forces that could cause tearing. The ACL is the most commonly sprained in wrestling. A partial tear will require immobilization, ice, and rest to help with recovery. A complete rupture may require surgery and many weeks of recovery.

Prepatella bursitis, the inflammation of the sac located in front of the kneecap , is caused by the front of the knee constantly hitting the mat. It is treated by anti-inflammatory medication, ice, and rest. The meniscus is a “C”-shaped disc made of tough cartilage and is very important for absorbing shock between the femur and the tibia . Most injuries to the meniscus occur from a hit or other direct trauma to the knee. Sudden turning or twisting motions of the knee may also cause a tear. Serious meniscal tears typically require surgery that either repair the tear or completely remove the torn portion of the ligament. It may take 6-8 months to fully recover after surgery.

Maintaining strength of the quadriceps and hamstrings, as well as flexibility through the lower extremities,You can find best china precision Precision injection molds manufacturers from here! can help prevent injury to knee ligaments. The best way to prevent bursitis is to wear knee pads during practices and competitions. Knee pads help to limit the stress on the knee and reduce the force of any direct impact to the front of the knee.

Neck injuries can be caused by throws, especially those done incorrectly, and holds where the wrestler's head is caught at an awkward angle. The cervical vertebrae are often forced into vulnerable positions, which can result in several types of neck injuries. Most are strains, sprains and whiplash injuries.Information on useful yeasts and moulds, However, every neck injury should be treated as a spinal cord injury until ruled out by a medical professional. Spinal immobilization is the most important step in treatment. This will help prevent future damage to the spinal cord if it is involved. Dangerous holds and “slamming” moves should be avoided to prevent neck injuries. Some coaches teach wrestlers to keep their heads up when performing take-downs, to avoid compression or flexion of the spine, which can lead to serious injury.

Dr. Khabie concludes that a well-planned program that includes muscular endurance and strength work along with cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility training will not only reduce the risk of injury, it will improve performance as well.

Babes in Turkland: Unsung Bursa

After three nonstop days of traveling, from LAX to Frankfurt and Atatürk airports, then to Sultanahmet, Tarlabas and the clubs in Taksim, then Haydar Pasa, Gebze and Eskihisar and, finally, to Darca and a family dinner, the kids got a well-deserved break.

Our idea of a break was to go to Gebze for the day, exploring the Anabal hardware store, our favorite tile retailer,Accept all major credit cards using the top rated third party payment gateway. the ladies’ clothing stores at the Gebze Center Mall,Full-service custom manufacturer of precision plastic injection mold, then on to the lovely süsler Perde curtain store, where we had tea with our friend Fatih Genc, one of the owners. After oohing and aahing over the beautiful fabrics, tassels, beads, fringes and other delights on display, Fatih took us to what we think is Gebze’s finest restaurant, Tandrci, for a late lunch. The creamy buffalo yogurt, homemade puffy bread and one of the specialties of the house, buryan kebab, were even better than the last time we were there. Buryan kebab is the succulent result of hanging big pieces of lamb from hooks then lowering them into a chamber in the earth with a fire underneath it, and is most associated with the province of Siirt, in southeastern Turkey. We could barely roll ourselves into Fatih’s car for the trip back. Needless to say, I didn’t have to cook anyone dinner that night.

Having recharged our family’s batteries with Gebze-hopping and some of the best food on the planet, we hooked up with Fatih and his car again to go across the water to Bursa. One of the great things about having visitors who had no expectations at all as to what to see in Turkey was that we could take them only to places we like to go, and not to “must-sees” from the guidebooks. We love going to Bursa, and while lots of tourists go to there, they are usually on the way to or from somewhere else, from points north or south. While Bursa is changing as much as Istanbul in terms of the huge Ikea near the bus station and several multi-story malls in the chic, modern downtown, there is enough of the old Ottoman capital left to make it a destination all on its own. We only had a day’s trip planned; we chose our favorite few things so that we’d all have time to enjoy them.

To get to Bursa from here, we took the Yalova ferry, as it is called,Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists. although it actually lands at Topcular, named for some long-forgotten cannon makers. Our ferry ride was perfect, with the crisp December weather cooperating, with blue sky and pretty clouds here and there. The seagulls had their winter appetites at the ready, and were happy to take food from one’s fingers. Our Marmara gulls have very strong shoulders to hold their place in the wind long enough for the silly humans to feed them simit and tost.FIRMAR is a Malaysia Injection Moulding Manufacturer and Plastic Injections Components Manufacturer, I believe they are a bit more patient than, and probably not as spoiled as, the seagulls on the Bosporus, but that might be my local loyalties talking. As we neared the southern shore of the Marmara, we got back into Fatih’s car and prepared for the crazy mini-road-race endemic to every Turkish car ferry I have ever been on. It was fun to be inside a car, terrorizing the poor pedestrians,Online fine art gallery of quality original landscape oil paintings, (although not on purpose, of course) instead of being the ones terrorized. I have no idea why it is so necessary to speed as fast as possible over the few hundred meters involved, when there is virtually no chance of getting ahead of anyone because of the lanes drivers (for once) have to stay in, but speed they do. Joaquin and Bonnie were appropriately impressed at this demonstration of derring-do from non-taxi-driving citizens.

Houses get historic look at salvage warehouse

Walk into the building at 908 23rd St. and you might find several 1880s solid oak church pews or an antique roll-top desk or a marble fireplace mantle from the old Hutchings Sealy Bank.

Walk out back and peruse the assortment of claw foot tubs, porcelain sinks, wavy glass window panes, roofing tile, brick — there’s even a prefabricated commissary house from the early 1900s.Smooth-On is your source for Mold Making and casting materials including silicone rubber and urethane rubber,

Welcome to the Architectural Salvage Warehouse,China yiri mould is a professional manufacturer which integrates Plastic Mould design and manufacture and plastic product development. which is supported by the Galveston Historical Foundation and sales from donated items.

The building was constructed in 1909-10 and housed the staff of John Sealy, whose mansion was across the street.

Matt Farragher, project coordinator of preservation services, is the overseer who works in tandem with Joe Janota, warehouse manager.

Farragher, who divides his time between the warehouse and foundation, originally is from Ohio. He said he fell in love with Galveston on spring break while attending college in Indiana. He joined the foundation’s staff in August 2007.

“I answer questions from residents and work in the resource center where builders or residents come to get restoration help with an historical project,” said Farragher, who has a master of science degree in historic preservation. “I take pleasure in teaching future generations the importance of their heritage. This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game.”

Janota, born and raised in Oregon, visited his aunt and uncle in Galveston and liked it so much he moved to the island. He has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, but his time as a park ranger ignited his interest in historic preservation. He manages the warehouse as well as owning his own construction business.

“This is a great place because it provides a place for locals to come and find resources for their houses,” Janota said.Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists.

The warehouse also helps to keep materials out of the landfill.

Although most items are available only to island residents, he does make exceptions with smaller items if the buyer is from Galveston County. But the main objective is to keep all salvaged items on the island, Janota said.

“We also give classes upstairs,” Farragher said. “We do hands-on teaching and focus on how to finish your floors, research your house, do environmentally friendly maintenance, and how to historically design your landscape. We had a course this past session where we gave instructions on how to clean up cemetery stones and had a work day there.”

The majority of items the warehouse receives include doors, windows and furniture.

“We recently got 10 to 12 doors and about 50 shutters,” Janota said. “We also have a lot of tongue-and-groove, bead-board, siding, flooring, spindles for porches or interior stairwells, picket fence posts — every day is different. People come in and look for specific things and since I see everything that comes in, I can usually keep an eye out for people who are looking for certain items.”

The warehouse operators don’t repair or recondition items.

“Everything here depends on style, size and condition,” Farragher said. “We don’t fix up items beyond basic cleanup and we don’t recondition so we can sell things at an agreeable price.”

Items go well in old houses as well as new, Janota said.

“A lot of people have a preconceived idea that they have to have an old house,” Janota said. “But you can have a newer house and repurpose with many things from our warehouse. Everything here has been loved and needs a little more love.”

The warehouse, which has been in business for 30 years, is open Wednesdays and Saturdays and is available for islanders to find what they need to finish their home improvement projects.

Spending to rise in 2012; economists expect increases in automotive

Companies in Jackson are expected to retain or add employees within the automotive, manufacturing and retail areas this year, as long as the European financial system doesn't collapse and housing remains stable.

During the past three years, layoffs have discouraged people from spending on all but the most necessary items, as workers either lost or feared losing their jobs, said Kenny Holt, professor of economics at Austin Peay University.

People's lack of spending has caused two things, Holt said. The first is pent up demand for vehicles as people have kept cars longer to avoid monthly payments. The second is increased personal savings accounts. Those factors, combined with a more stable job market, are expected to help increase retail and automotive sales within the county and nationwide. The demand for autos could continue through 2013, Holt said, even if a large number of car buyers hit lots within the first half of this year.

"Because there are good incentives, there could be a little bubble in 2012 because it has been some time since we have bought cars," he said. "But I don't see any reason why we would pull demand forward away from 2013."

US Farathane on Bobrick Drive in Jackson already is seeing increased demand for some products, said Russell Williams, general manager. Farathane is a single and two-shot injection

molding company. It employs more than 200 workers who make bumpers and other parts for the automotive industry. Williams thinks Farathane will remain strong throughout this year because the company also has acquired contracts from companies that once used now defunct suppliers. He said Farathane was not adding employees at this time.

"I see stability in this market with maybe small growth," he said. "Volumes, I think, will be up."

The demand for steel is often used by economists to judge the strength of the construction, automobile and manufacturing industries.

Inc., is a machinery and fabrication facility on Whitehall Street that uses steel to build parts and entire machines for Kubota Tractor, MTD/Cub Cadet, Procter & Gamble and other manufacturers.China yiri mould is a professional manufacturer which integrates Plastic Mould design and manufacture and plastic product development. The company has seen steel prices climb over the last six months as it tries to meet demand for parts and machinery orders. Cupples J&J Co. wants to hire about 10 more employees this year. In 2009, the company was forced to lay off about 60 people as manufacturing across the U.S. and Europe came to a near halt. The magic cube is an ultra-portable, The company has rehired nearly all of those employees as its roster has climbed back to about 250 workers.Johnson Tiles UK offer the largest range of porcelain tiles online, Jeff Cupples, vice president, said he feels "cautiously confident" about continued growth throughout most of 2012. His company has purchased its ninth welding robot and will have another on-site in about 10 weeks, he said. The company also added a CNC lathe to its Dyersburg plant and wants to add another laser cutter and press machine to its Jackson site.

"We are very, very busy and have orders booked all the way through the end of June," Cupples said, "We are in extremely good shape right now."

Most economist believe the pace of hiring,FIRMAR is a Malaysia Injection Moulding Manufacturer and Plastic Injections Components Manufacturer, spending and production will not improve dramatically during 2012, according to a report issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The report states a number of issues could curtail growth, including low consumer confidence that will keep consumers from spending as they did before 2008. The report also states that unemployment likely will stay between 8.5 percent to 8.7 percent throughout the year, keeping people from purchasing large ticket or unnecessary items. The fed sees this as a time when companies and people will continue to pay off debt, instead of spending,The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, further delaying a large recovery.

"Long-term unemployment is a particular concern," the report states, "because the longer workers are without jobs, the more difficulty they face in developing skills to keep up with changing workforce demands."

The financial crisis in Europe and a strengthening dollar could also restrict growth in manufacturing. A higher dollar makes U.S. goods more expensive to overseas buyers.

"Things could turn on a dime," Cupples said, "depending on what happens in Europe."

Williams said European car sales could remain slow in 2012.

"I think it will be a problem for the GMs and the Fords that have significant business there," he said. "I think it will be soft."

Specialized sues Volagi over Liscio road bike

A lawsuit filed by Specialized Bicycle Components last year alleging that Volagi Bicycles founders, and former Specialized employees, Robert Choi and Barley Forsman used Specialized trade secrets to create the Liscio road bike has gone to court, according to Silicon Valley news site Mercury News. You can find best china precision Precision injection molds manufacturers from here!

Jury selection began Tuesday, and the trial is expected to take two weeks.

The Liscio is a unique disc-brake equipped road bike designed for endurance riding, and is currently Volagi’s only model. It uses a “Longbow Flex Stay,” which attaches the seat stays directly to the top tube rather than the seat tube, adding 5-6mm of vertical flex without compromising torsional stiffness. Choi claims that the design is not an idea that came from Specialized.

The Liscio was debuted at Interbike in 2010. The lawsuit was filed the following month.

Choi and Forsman were in the equipment department at Specialized until April 2010. “I managed their equipment, the bottle business and such. Cages, pumps, computers, tires; completely separated from the bikes. Barney was the primary designer for equipment,” Choi explained during a short break in proceedings on Tuesday.

According to Choi,MDC Mould specialized of Injection moulds, the genesis of the Liscio concept came while both were working for Specialized but the two didn’t use any of the company’s trade secrets in its development.

“We never thought that it would come to this,” Choi said.

“We really thought we had a better idea, we had a unique idea about a marketplace that they weren’t really serving,” Choi said. “We designed a bike ideally suited for people that want to go out and do centuries and stuff. We thought it wouldn’t be a conflict. We didn’t have any information about their bike business. Nothing.

“They used to poo-poo us for doing these long distance rides and double centuries. We were the weirdos in the office because we didn’t want to go do the 24mph lunch ride.”

According to Choi, Specialized did not name any specific technical aspects of the Liscio design that had been stolen.

Choi and Forsman believe they were completely honest upon their departure, and perhaps that is now acting to their detriment. “We went in open-kimono, gave them all the info they wanted when we left. But they used that and turned it around on us.”

Specialized is now demanding a royalty payment on every Liscio sold, according to Choi.

“At first, they claimed we stole everything. But the preliminary injunction was rejected,” Choi explained. Now, Specialized is claiming that the two men breached their contract, and their confidentiality agreement. “They’re saying we didn’t have rights to design something that would be seen as competitive to Specialized because we had a non-compete clause,Get information on Air purifier from the unbiased,” said Choi.FIRMAR is a Malaysia Injection Moulding Manufacturer and Plastic Injections Components Manufacturer,

“I worked for Mike Sinyard,” he added. “I had a certain amount of respect for him. They were almost bankrupt 7-8 years ago, and now they’re knocking on Trek’s total sales. I wrote (Sinyard) a heartfelt letter, thanking him. We hoped he would wish us well … he didn’t wish us well.

“He’s saying ‘this is my fucking bike,’ just because the bike is red. They think they own the red color. I’m pretty sure SRAM has a component group called Red.”

“We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on this. We spent more money on the lawsuit than the entire gross revenue of the bikes we’ve sold. Our houses are mortgaged. (Specialized) spent a million and a half dollars.Johnson Tiles UK offer the largest range of porcelain tiles online, For a million and a half dollars they should have bought our company,” Choi said.

When reached for comment, Specialized brand communications manager Ben Delaney said: “Regarding Volagi, I’m afraid we can’t comment about any ongoing arbitration.”

Firefighters make donation to Scarborough house fire victims

More than a month after a fire destroyed their Scarborough home, the Masteromattei family is rebuilding with the support of friends, family and the community.

The family received a $500 cheque from the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association on Monday, Dec.Wholesaler of different types of Ceramic tile for your kitchen, 19, at Francis Libermann Catholic High School, where son AJ, 15, is in Grade 10.

The family's home on 67 Marilake Dr. near Midland Avenue and Hwy 401, sustained extensive damage in a three alarm fire on Nov. 9. The family, including two senior family members, escaped safely.

The donation from the firefighters is the latest gesture of support the family has received.

"It feels great. It's great to know we have support for a new beginning. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, We know we can move on," said mom Bernadette through AJ.

Both Bernadette and husband Tony are deaf,Buy oil paintings for sale online. but their gratitude to the firefighters was evident without any words being heard.

The money was presented by Michael Ogle, executive officer with the TPFFA,MDC Mould specialized of Injection moulds, but also on hand were four firefighters who were the first responding crew to the fire in the early morning hours.

Ogle said the donation is something the association has been doing for years to try to help families who have lost so much to fire.

"It's an extension of the job that we do all year long," he said. "It's not a lot, but it's maybe a bit of a start."

The Masteromattei were lucky and had insurance, but a lot of people don't, he added.

The family has been staying in a condo near the Scarborough Town Centre while their home is under construction. The foundation will remain, but virtually everything from the ground up is being rebuilt.

The family escaped mostly unscathed. Tony's elbows were burned and Bernadette's hand bears a scar from a burn - though her foot is still on the mend. The psychological scars do still remain.

Bernadette and Brandon have flashbacks. She has to remind herself that her boys are fine because for a time during the fire she thought they were dead. Brandon and AJ had escaped out the side door into the backyard with their grandparents while their parents remained in the house searching for them before heading to safety in the front yard. The family can still feel the fire and see the flames.

"You could feel the heat against the side of your face," AJ said.

They are grateful to have escaped unharmed even though they lost their home and nearly all of the their possessions, including AJ's hockey equipment. A teacher at the school made sure he had replacements quickly so he wouldn't miss any ice time.

The hardship puts life into perspective, even for 13-year-old Brandon.Excel Mould is a Custom Plastic Injection Moulding Manufacturer,

"I just keep thinking don't take anything for granted because in a few seconds it could all be gone," he said.

Joris Minne: Wagamama

All good things come to Belfast in the end. Starbucks coffee, Urban Outfitters, international cruise ships, the Bedding by special invited artist for 2011, crackle nail polish ? all are mainstream features of our daily lives. Yet less than five years ago we could only dream of these.

Wagamama, the most famous noodle bar chain of them all and blessed with a hint of urban glamour, is so well established in Belfast after only a year, it now does home deliveries.

A restaurant which majors on noodles is not aiming to blind its clientele with brilliance. So long as the noodles are not overcooked, that there's enough of a difference for a diner to make some distinction between the different noodle dishes, you can't really go wrong.

The thing about commercial food chains is that they are neither brilliant nor hopeless. PizzaExpress and Nando's are better than average at making pizzas and barbecuing chicken. Burger chains can occasionally hit a higher note too. I had the best ever McDonald's during the holidays where the "Big Tasty" summer special burger was not at all bad.

Few other chains, however, achieve above-average marks. Wagamama should be good.Enecsys Limited, supplier of reliable solar RUBBER MATS systems, There are hundreds of Wagamama restaurants in 18 different countries (although not in Asia). Its branding is spectacularly attractive, its dining rooms democratic, bright, benched and funky and the front of house staff, by and large,Als lichtbron wordt een cube puzzle gebruikt, are slick and friendly.

But the food is not great. Twice have I hauled the Minnes and friends to Wagamama in Belfast's Victoria Square and twice have we been left to wipe the disappointment from our lips with the star-branded paper napkins. Lunch at Wagamama last week failed to raise the outlook and all I found was the same consistency as the first two visits — pleasant service and comfortable room (despite the bolted down, communal benches), but so-so food.

If, however, you're under ten years old, you will love Wagamama. On Wednesday lunchtime there were 11 children with their families at various tables. They ate like gluttenous angels and clearly loved the stuff. Also, who was responsible for tracking down Charles China ceramic tile .For the last five years Hemroids , every dish on the menu is identified by a number. Children love this too. It means they can order a 702 (bottle of ice-cold Kirin beer — Japan's prime brew) before their parents have caught on.

As soon as I bit into the deep fried duck dumplings (number 65) I knew why. There was crispiness, soft warmth and a plum sauce so sweet as to strip the chrome off a flicker's handlebars.

The sweetness is overwhelming in other dishes too. While the plum sauce had the kind of depth you'd get out of banana flavoured chewing gum, the teriyaki soba noodles, meant to be spicy with chilli, garlic, ginger and onion, also caused some surprise each time I bit into coriander stalks which tasted intensely floral and perfumed.

That aside, the flavours were not so bland as to be dismissed but they were disappointingly muted considering the five chefs on the other side of the 40ft kitchen counter seemed to be continually chopping up, flash frying and steaming fresh stuff for that just-made-there-now enjoyment.

This is where corporate constraints dictate the product. A Wagamama meal should be exactly the same in Belfast as in Turkey.
