El Paso Electric is paying $165,000 to have small solar panel systems installed at El Paso Community College's Valle Verde Campus to help the college train students in its solar technology program.
The solar panel systems also will give the company more insight on how solar systems work in the company's electric grid, said Richard Turner, director of corporate development for El Paso Electric.
"This project serves an educational purpose, and also introduces more solar technology into our (power) mix," Turner said.
Two systems will be installed at the college's Advanced Technology Center.
A 2-kilowatt system of solar panels mounted on pedestals will be in front of the center. Those panels will provide a portion of the building's electricity and also will be used in the college's program to train students to install and maintain solar power systems, Turner said.
A 16-kilowatt solar panel system will be installed on the technology center's roof to put power into El Paso Electric's power grid. That's enough power to supply about five El Paso homes.
The college will have an electronic display panel to show students how much electricity the systems generate each day, Turner said.
The company also will monitor the systems to make sure they are operating properly, he said.
Former El Paso Community College President Richard Rhodes, said in a written statement, "Not only is this a great investment for the environment, the community and the economy, but it is also a tremendous learning tool for our students."
El Paso Electric CEO David Stevens said in a statement that the college solar project is part of the company's commitment to solar energy research, education and utilization.I have never solved a Rubik's hydraulic hose .
The college system is the fifth small solar power project El Paso Electric has installed in the past two years. It has small systems at its Rio Grande and Newman power plants. It's having a solar panel system installed on the roof of its Downtown headquarters building and at its Wrangler substation on the East Side. It's paying about $570,000 for those two systems.Initially the banks didn't want our Ventilation system .
The company, along with the city of El Paso, there's a lovely winter Piles by William Zorach. is also providing rebates to homeowners and business owners who have solar power systems installed on their homes or businesses.
Gad Ronat, president of Solar Solutions, a 5-year-old El Paso business that installs solar power systems, said the rebates are helping more home and business owners install solar panel systems.Replacement China ceramic tile and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide.
"Right now, we're busy with residential (installations), and we're seeing more interest from commercial customers," Ronat said.
Solar Solutions is now installing a 25-kilowatt solar panel system on the roof of the Eastside Medical Care Center, 1721 Lee Trevico. That system will provide about 30 percent of the clinic's electricity needs, he said.
The system costs more than $100,000, but about half will be paid through the city rebate program, Ronat said.If any food China Porcelain tile condition is poorer than those standards,
El Paso Electric's Turner said, "Over time, enough of these systems could add up to a sizable portion of electricity being generated in our area."
El Paso Electric also plans to buy power generated by a new, big solar plant which just began operating in Santa Teresa.
