It's Time to "Hold" the Line Against Injuries

Wrestling as a sport can be traced back to the ancient Olympics and has been practiced throughout the world in many forms and styles ever since. Today, wrestling is offered at various levels, from youth wrestling in middle school through high school, college and the Olympics. This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game. It's a sport for people of all sizes, both male and female, and competition rules that pair athletes against each other according to their weight class reduce the risk of injury. Nevertheless, injuries do occur. According to sports medicine specialist Dr. Victor Khabie of Somers Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Group, “Wrestling is an intense and demanding sport, requiring a great deal of muscular endurance and strength. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, And it is a contact sport in which the body is contorted into many different positions, putting the muscles and joints under great stress. Overall conditioning, proper technique and the right equipment are essential to prevent injuries.”

According to Dr. Khabie, who serves as team physician for several schools,A Coated Abrasives is an abrasive grain bonded to a flexible substrate using adhesives. “As with all sports, injury prevention must be a primary goal of all participants, coaches, and trainers. The wrestler should be coached and supervised at all times, stressing proper technique, proper equipment and discipline to avoid injury. Coaches and referees need to strictly enforce rules to encourage safe wrestling technique and the use of proper safety gear and equipment.

At both the high school and collegiate levels, wrestling ranks second only to football in injury rate. Most injuries are not serious and are similar to those seen in other sports: bruises, scrapes, strains and sprains. The most serious wrestling injuries affect the shoulder, knee and neck and are most commonly caused by forcing a joint beyond its acceptable range of motion.

The majority of upper body and shoulder injuries in wrestlers are caused by the combination of leverage and twisting during competition. Rotator cuff pain is common in young athletes, usually caused by muscle strains and tears that arise from overuse. An acute tear is more serious and might result in wrestling from falling on an outstretched arm. The most common traumatic shoulder injury in wresting in young people is dislocation, in which the head of the upper arm bone comes out of the socket, either partially or completely. Shoulder strengthening exercises, braces and, in some cases, surgery may be recommended to prevent recurrence.

Dr, Khabie adds that shoulder flexibility should be an essential goal of a conditioning program. “Wrestling-specific workouts for the shoulder should include both weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing exercises. Weight-bearing exercises such as push-up variations improve the stability of the joint. Also, rotator cuff strength, endurance and proper muscle balance should be addressed.”

Knee injuries constitute a significant number of all wrestling injuries. During a match, the knee may be twisted and turned in many different directions.

The ligaments supporting the knee are under a great deal of stress trying to hold the knee together and may be stretched or torn. The anterior cruciate ligament , the posterior cruciate ligament, and both the lateral and medial collateral ligaments are subjected to external forces that could cause tearing. The ACL is the most commonly sprained in wrestling. A partial tear will require immobilization, ice, and rest to help with recovery. A complete rupture may require surgery and many weeks of recovery.

Prepatella bursitis, the inflammation of the sac located in front of the kneecap , is caused by the front of the knee constantly hitting the mat. It is treated by anti-inflammatory medication, ice, and rest. The meniscus is a “C”-shaped disc made of tough cartilage and is very important for absorbing shock between the femur and the tibia . Most injuries to the meniscus occur from a hit or other direct trauma to the knee. Sudden turning or twisting motions of the knee may also cause a tear. Serious meniscal tears typically require surgery that either repair the tear or completely remove the torn portion of the ligament. It may take 6-8 months to fully recover after surgery.

Maintaining strength of the quadriceps and hamstrings, as well as flexibility through the lower extremities,You can find best china precision Precision injection molds manufacturers from here! can help prevent injury to knee ligaments. The best way to prevent bursitis is to wear knee pads during practices and competitions. Knee pads help to limit the stress on the knee and reduce the force of any direct impact to the front of the knee.

Neck injuries can be caused by throws, especially those done incorrectly, and holds where the wrestler's head is caught at an awkward angle. The cervical vertebrae are often forced into vulnerable positions, which can result in several types of neck injuries. Most are strains, sprains and whiplash injuries.Information on useful yeasts and moulds, However, every neck injury should be treated as a spinal cord injury until ruled out by a medical professional. Spinal immobilization is the most important step in treatment. This will help prevent future damage to the spinal cord if it is involved. Dangerous holds and “slamming” moves should be avoided to prevent neck injuries. Some coaches teach wrestlers to keep their heads up when performing take-downs, to avoid compression or flexion of the spine, which can lead to serious injury.

Dr. Khabie concludes that a well-planned program that includes muscular endurance and strength work along with cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility training will not only reduce the risk of injury, it will improve performance as well.

Spending to rise in 2012; economists expect increases in automotive

Companies in Jackson are expected to retain or add employees within the automotive, manufacturing and retail areas this year, as long as the European financial system doesn't collapse and housing remains stable.

During the past three years, layoffs have discouraged people from spending on all but the most necessary items, as workers either lost or feared losing their jobs, said Kenny Holt, professor of economics at Austin Peay University.

People's lack of spending has caused two things, Holt said. The first is pent up demand for vehicles as people have kept cars longer to avoid monthly payments. The second is increased personal savings accounts. Those factors, combined with a more stable job market, are expected to help increase retail and automotive sales within the county and nationwide. The demand for autos could continue through 2013, Holt said, even if a large number of car buyers hit lots within the first half of this year.

"Because there are good incentives, there could be a little bubble in 2012 because it has been some time since we have bought cars," he said. "But I don't see any reason why we would pull demand forward away from 2013."

US Farathane on Bobrick Drive in Jackson already is seeing increased demand for some products, said Russell Williams, general manager. Farathane is a single and two-shot injection

molding company. It employs more than 200 workers who make bumpers and other parts for the automotive industry. Williams thinks Farathane will remain strong throughout this year because the company also has acquired contracts from companies that once used now defunct suppliers. He said Farathane was not adding employees at this time.

"I see stability in this market with maybe small growth," he said. "Volumes, I think, will be up."

The demand for steel is often used by economists to judge the strength of the construction, automobile and manufacturing industries.

Cupples J&J Co. Inc., is a machinery and fabrication facility on Whitehall Street that uses steel to build parts and entire machines for Kubota Tractor, MTD/Cub Cadet, Procter & Gamble and other manufacturers.China yiri mould is a professional manufacturer which integrates Plastic Mould design and manufacture and plastic product development. The company has seen steel prices climb over the last six months as it tries to meet demand for parts and machinery orders. Cupples J&J Co. wants to hire about 10 more employees this year. In 2009, the company was forced to lay off about 60 people as manufacturing across the U.S. and Europe came to a near halt. The magic cube is an ultra-portable, The company has rehired nearly all of those employees as its roster has climbed back to about 250 workers.Johnson Tiles UK offer the largest range of porcelain tiles online, Jeff Cupples, vice president, said he feels "cautiously confident" about continued growth throughout most of 2012. His company has purchased its ninth welding robot and will have another on-site in about 10 weeks, he said. The company also added a CNC lathe to its Dyersburg plant and wants to add another laser cutter and press machine to its Jackson site.

"We are very, very busy and have orders booked all the way through the end of June," Cupples said, "We are in extremely good shape right now."

Most economist believe the pace of hiring,FIRMAR is a Malaysia Injection Moulding Manufacturer and Plastic Injections Components Manufacturer, spending and production will not improve dramatically during 2012, according to a report issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The report states a number of issues could curtail growth, including low consumer confidence that will keep consumers from spending as they did before 2008. The report also states that unemployment likely will stay between 8.5 percent to 8.7 percent throughout the year, keeping people from purchasing large ticket or unnecessary items. The fed sees this as a time when companies and people will continue to pay off debt, instead of spending,The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, further delaying a large recovery.

"Long-term unemployment is a particular concern," the report states, "because the longer workers are without jobs, the more difficulty they face in developing skills to keep up with changing workforce demands."

The financial crisis in Europe and a strengthening dollar could also restrict growth in manufacturing. A higher dollar makes U.S. goods more expensive to overseas buyers.

"Things could turn on a dime," Cupples said, "depending on what happens in Europe."

Williams said European car sales could remain slow in 2012.

"I think it will be a problem for the GMs and the Fords that have significant business there," he said. "I think it will be soft."

Paradigm shifts needed to reform political pay structure

This week in Singapore saw intense debates and discussions in two areas, namely the pay of our political leaders and entry tests for children’s admission into tuition centres. The former topic concerns our current leaders, the latter our future leaders. When looked upon as a single subject, it produces certain disturbing trends which will no doubt plague our nation’s soul, as it already have, to a deeper level.

Some enrichment centres for our primary and secondary school students conduct admission tests as part of their enrollment process. If your child fails the entrance test,Get information on Air purifier from the unbiased, then sorry he or she is not allowed into the ivory gates of the centre – and they are not apologetic about this.

In the Sunday Times today, an advertisement by The Learning Lab (TLL) terms PSLE as “one of Singapore’s most important competitions”. It is repulsive that an examination held for our twelve year olds are actually referred to in this manner. A quick check at the website of TLL reveals that their Math program will “show how a strong quantitative foundation can be a huge competitive advantage in students’ future corporate careers”. Under TLL’s Future Leaders Program , it boasts of comprising “landmark student leadership and academic development events to give your child a head-start in the corporate world.” The insane focus on the “corporate world” that these children are supposedly undergoing quality training for is a major problem. Is this what education stands for?

We take pride in the pursuit of excellence,Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, and to be fair the areas in which these students should excel in is in the main academic ones. However the worrying problem is the overwhelming emphasis on future success in financially rewarding careers. In our society, education is looked upon as a mean to financial ends. This mindset has to be changed.

The ministerial salary pay review has been concluded with a tweaked formula. Salaries of political appointees are now pegged against a larger pool – the top 1,000 Singaporean earners instead of the previous benchmark of top 48 earners in 6 professions. What has not changed is the focus on rewarding our leaders with top salaries.

If you would consider the education culture explored above, it would not seem all too surprising that things turned out this way.

After all, these top achievers worked their guts out since young with a view of securing a high paying career. Why would they settle for something less vis -vis their peers? There are a multitude of calls for this unhealthy manner of benchmarking the salaries of our political leaders to the corporate world to be abolished. How possible is it in this environment?

Let us be realistic and recognise that the best students who excel academically and non-academically are often very successful in their adult life. In terms of ability, they no doubt fit the bill in occupying a stressful and intellectually challenging position of a political leader. Look at the developed nations and you will see that political leaders around the world not only excelled academically when they were students, but were active leaders in their own field before entering politics.Smooth-On is your source for Mold Making and casting materials including silicone rubber and urethane rubber,

A cursory glance at our political leadership reveals men and women of outstanding resumes. Replete with Ivy League and Oxbridge pedigree, our leaders are often scholarship awardees at the same time. Many come from the civil service, the armed forces, and a small number from the private sector. An undisputable formula is thus entrenched in the minds of Singaporeans, where academic success equals to monetary rewards.

This is only a good system for a stick and carrot system in a soulless nation, but never healthy for the nation-building of a country that Singaporeans want Singapore to be.

We not only need to start from the young,I have just spent two weeks shopping for tile and have discovered China Porcelain tile. we also need to work from the top. We need to instil the concept of education as a source of enriching the minds of our young ones. It should not be considered solely as a tool for future financial success, but as something which moulds us as a person, a human being. At the top, the government needs to send out a strong and clear message that our leaders are not only borne out of the typical mould that we see today.

The Prime Minister of UK could well be a successful financier in the City of London with a first class degree in PPE from Oxford, but he joined the Tories fresh out from school. President Barack Obama of USA graduated from two Ivy League universities, but chose to become a community organiser and a constitutional law lecturer, when he could well pursue a career as a corporate lawyer which undoubtedly pays more.

These two examples not only defies the high education high pay formula seen in Singapore, but also provides UK and USA a source of inspiration and confidence in their political leadership. At the same time,China yiri mould is a professional manufacturer which integrates Plastic Mould design and manufacture and plastic product development. their political leaders are nowhere as highly paid as our leaders.

In Singapore where our leaders tout unabashedly about the need for financial rewards to attract political talents, there is little wonder why many Singaporeans quickly lose any respect that we may have in them. As Lee Kuan Yew argued that “we live in a real world” when talking about paying our politicians the top dollar, yes we indeed live in a real world.

Store loyalty programs are designed to save us money, but at what cost?

There are 11 plastic cards in my wallet, wedged between the debit card receipts and a few dollar bills.

They all promise me discounts, points toward greater savings or free stuff just for using them. But let’s face it. I use the grocery cards regularly, and the others just take up space.

It’s been years since I shopped at DSW. And I don’t wear makeup or use hair products. So why did I agree to an Ulta rewards card? Because next time I shop at those stores, I want special desals.

More companies now offer loyalty or rewards cards. And most of us have at least one.

Mike Gatti of the National Retail Federation says companies use loyalty programs to better serve and communicate with their customers.

But is there a cost to consumers? Should we worry about what’s done with the information we provide when using these cards?

With each swipe, companies track spending habits to help make decisions about the kinds of promotions to run, or even where to open a store.

The kind of information companies seek through loyalty programs could be less personal than we think, according to author and consumer advocate Bruce Judson.

“...I have just spent two weeks shopping for tile and have discovered China Porcelain tile. Ask yourself, what’s the worst that can happen? If it was publicly published (in a newspaper) what my family purchased and bought at a grocery store, would I care?”

Loyalty programs emerged about 20 years ago, says Gatti of the National Retail Federation. Companies such as Kroger were among the first to embrace the concept. It was a way for them to track consumer buying habits.

“For grocers, it was a great way to get an understanding for what your customers are shopping for,Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, prices they’re willing to pay. ... It’s a great way to gauge your relationship with customers,” Gatti says. “The main reason was to get people to want to shop in your store versus others. A lot of it had to do with discounts on products.”

And for consumers, it’s a fairly effortless way to save money.Get information on Air purifier from the unbiased, They aren’t required to clip and file coupons.

An American family of four spends about $9,000 annually on food, according to the federal government’s Consumer Expenditure Survey. Add another $1,000 for paper products and personal care. If a family can whittle those expenditures by 20 percent through coupons and loyalty programs, that’s $2,000 a year.

Savings. That’s what motivates Jessica Humphrey, an Oak Ridge mother of three who also buys food for her church ministry.

For every $100 she spends at Lowes Foods, she receives 5 cents off gasoline. This enabled her to fill up her tank for $2.05 a gallon around Christmas.

“There are some perks I don’t want to miss out on getting, especially something for free,” she says.

Loyalty card use now extends beyond the grocery aisles.

Gatti says the craze has exploded within the past five years, as more stores — and even restaurants — started offering the cards.

Humphrey keeps her 14 loyalty cards on a separate key ring. They give her savings and perks at area grocery, office supply, pet, sporting goods and clothing stores.

As for retailers, they now use loyalty programs to build relationships, analyze buying habits, target marketing efforts, and adapt products and store hours to customer preferences, Gatti says.

While grocers use a straightforward approach with savings immediately given at the register, other retailers customize their programs differently.

Rather than keep those without cards from receiving discounts, some companies give members occasional freebies or notification about special store sales.

Often, companies reward consumer loyalty with points. Take the beauty supply chain, Ulta. Members earn four points for every dollar spent. Over time, those points are rewarded with discounts at the register.

Restaurants such as Panera and Smokey Bones reward their regulars, too. Panera prefers to reward its customers in “unexpected and surprising ways,” according to the company’s website. This means a free menu item at random or invitations to exclusive tastings or demonstrations.

Membership to the Bones Club at Smokey Bones, provides diners with a point for every buck spent. Spend $200 and get a $20 credit on the card.

The Sheetz convenience store motto — “Swipe, save and get free stuff” — guarantees customers 3 cents off every gallon of gas, plus occasional free merchandise.

Marketing researchers and some consumers question whether such savings are truly beneficial. Do loyalty programs encourage consumers to buy things they don’t need, or bypass lower prices elsewhere, just to rack up the points for a future reward?

It happens, consumer advocate Judson says,Smooth-On is your source for Mold Making and casting materials including silicone rubber and urethane rubber, but he doesn’t think it’s completely the fault of the retailer.

It’s a complex issue with many layers, Judson says. As a society, Americans purchase many things they don’t need. It’s why so many of us have credit card debts requiring credit counseling. He wonders if it’s more that consumers don’t want to pay full price for things.

Take Humphrey and her collection of loyalty cards. Some of them haven’t proved very rewarding, but: “It kills me that I’m paying for something, and the person in front of me could be getting the same thing for less,” she says. “I feel like I’ve been wronged.”

Some consumers oppose loyalty cards because they don’t want companies to have access to their personal information.

They fear fraud or misuse of their information — a valid concern if companies find loopholes in their privacy policies or if they work with a third-party company with lax security measures.

Humphrey’s attitude: “Somebody’s tracking me somewhere, somehow. It’s just my phone number and address, and you can get that off of Google.”

Judson says retailers are more concerned with which products sell best and at what times. They’re looking for data that could direct them to open a new store in a different location, to stock more store-brand items or to carry a particular product in a different size.

But Judson cites drugstore, movie and book purchases as areas for higher consumer concern. He says consumers may not want what they’re reading, watching or taking over the counter to be tracked.

Gatti says companies closely guard consumer data because the last thing they want is to jeopardize customer loyalty should that information fall into the wrong hands.

A company’s privacy policy should be visible somewhere at the store, website or its rewards program brochure, Judson says. It often will indicate whether customer information is shared with a third party.

He also says consumers should consider a company’s reputation and track record regarding privacy breaches.China yiri mould is a professional manufacturer which integrates Plastic Mould design and manufacture and plastic product development.

There are other positive uses for the data. In recent years, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention used shopper loyalty information to narrow down the list of foods that made people ill. People often don’t remember what they ate or brands they purchased. Their shopping data helped the search.

The CDC obtained permission from consumers to review their shopping data, which helped them determine they were all sickened by the same product. The investigation led to food recalls.

Such information also proved useful in recent recall efforts. Companies were able to contact parents whose buying histories indicated they purchased particular cereal or toy brands.

Judson says he would be more concerned with information shared with credit card bureaus than with retailers tracking buying habits and seeking customer loyalty.

When it comes to loyalty programs, consumers ultimately have the power to share or withhold information.

Concerned about sharing personal data? The easiest way to avoid anyone tracking your spending habits is to pay full price for purchases and use cash.

Specialized sues Volagi over Liscio road bike

A lawsuit filed by Specialized Bicycle Components last year alleging that Volagi Bicycles founders, and former Specialized employees, Robert Choi and Barley Forsman used Specialized trade secrets to create the Liscio road bike has gone to court, according to Silicon Valley news site Mercury News. You can find best china precision Precision injection molds manufacturers from here!

Jury selection began Tuesday, and the trial is expected to take two weeks.

The Liscio is a unique disc-brake equipped road bike designed for endurance riding, and is currently Volagi’s only model. It uses a “Longbow Flex Stay,” which attaches the seat stays directly to the top tube rather than the seat tube, adding 5-6mm of vertical flex without compromising torsional stiffness. Choi claims that the design is not an idea that came from Specialized.

The Liscio was debuted at Interbike in 2010. The lawsuit was filed the following month.

Choi and Forsman were in the equipment department at Specialized until April 2010. “I managed their equipment, the bottle business and such. Cages, pumps, computers, tires; completely separated from the bikes. Barney was the primary designer for equipment,” Choi explained during a short break in proceedings on Tuesday.

According to Choi,MDC Mould specialized of Injection moulds, the genesis of the Liscio concept came while both were working for Specialized but the two didn’t use any of the company’s trade secrets in its development.

“We never thought that it would come to this,” Choi said.

“We really thought we had a better idea, we had a unique idea about a marketplace that they weren’t really serving,” Choi said. “We designed a bike ideally suited for people that want to go out and do centuries and stuff. We thought it wouldn’t be a conflict. We didn’t have any information about their bike business. Nothing.

“They used to poo-poo us for doing these long distance rides and double centuries. We were the weirdos in the office because we didn’t want to go do the 24mph lunch ride.”

According to Choi, Specialized did not name any specific technical aspects of the Liscio design that had been stolen.

Choi and Forsman believe they were completely honest upon their departure, and perhaps that is now acting to their detriment. “We went in open-kimono, gave them all the info they wanted when we left. But they used that and turned it around on us.”

Specialized is now demanding a royalty payment on every Liscio sold, according to Choi.

“At first, they claimed we stole everything. But the preliminary injunction was rejected,” Choi explained. Now, Specialized is claiming that the two men breached their contract, and their confidentiality agreement. “They’re saying we didn’t have rights to design something that would be seen as competitive to Specialized because we had a non-compete clause,Get information on Air purifier from the unbiased,” said Choi.FIRMAR is a Malaysia Injection Moulding Manufacturer and Plastic Injections Components Manufacturer,

“I worked for Mike Sinyard,” he added. “I had a certain amount of respect for him. They were almost bankrupt 7-8 years ago, and now they’re knocking on Trek’s total sales. I wrote (Sinyard) a heartfelt letter, thanking him. We hoped he would wish us well … he didn’t wish us well.

“He’s saying ‘this is my fucking bike,’ just because the bike is red. They think they own the red color. I’m pretty sure SRAM has a component group called Red.”

“We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on this. We spent more money on the lawsuit than the entire gross revenue of the bikes we’ve sold. Our houses are mortgaged. (Specialized) spent a million and a half dollars.Johnson Tiles UK offer the largest range of porcelain tiles online, For a million and a half dollars they should have bought our company,” Choi said.

When reached for comment, Specialized brand communications manager Ben Delaney said: “Regarding Volagi, I’m afraid we can’t comment about any ongoing arbitration.”

Shorter train waiting times on N-S Line

From today, commuters can expect shorter waiting times as SMRT increases train frequency on the North-South Line.

SMRT said yesterday that waiting times would be cut from six minutes to 21/2 minutes between 7am and 7.30am, and between 7pm and 7.30pm.

Normally, from 7.30am to 9am, and from 5pm to 7pm, the waiting time is 21/2 minutes to five minutes. The new waiting times will be reviewed at a later date.

After a series of North-South Line breakdowns last week, SMRT and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) conducted an overnight inspection of the North-South and East-West lines last Saturday.

As a result of that inspection,As a professional manufacturer of China ceramic tile in China, a 40kmh speed limit was imposed on trains running near the city as a safety precaution. SMRT said that this increased travelling times by two to seven minutes.

LTA said yesterday that SMRT would conduct train trial runs at different speeds over the next few days. Depending on the results, LTA and SMRT would consider raising the speed limit to 60kmh.

The inspection also led to the discovery of 13 defective trains, which were later withdrawn from service.

Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew said yesterday on Facebook that SMRT has repaired 11 of the 13 trains. The 11 trains have been put back into service.

"Hence, (SMRT is) now able to operate the trains during peak hours at intervals very close to what they were before the two major incidents last week," said Mr Lui.

The overnight inspection also showed that 21 "claws", or metal grips, along the North- South and East-West lines were missing.

The claws, which secure the third rail,Dimensional Mailing magic cube for Promotional Advertising, have been put back in place. As an added temporary measure, they are secured with cable ties.

my paper asked LTA and SMRT why plastic cable ties were used, after transport experts said that they might not be able to withstand vibrations on the tracks. This page contains information about molds,

SMRT said yesterday that the third rail is designed to be held up by the claws without fastening, as the claws are kept in place by the weight of the third rail. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free,

It added that, over the years, claws have been dislodged sporadically due to vibration. But they are replaced during weekly inspections, and this has no impact on the safety or reliability of the system.

SMRT said that the manufacturer of the third rail had recommended that "we use cable ties when we reinstate the claws, in order to minimise (their) dislodgement".Buy oil paintings for sale online.

As a precaution, SMRT had on Sunday secured the third rail and the claws near the city with cable ties.

LTA said that SMRT "is in the process of engaging railway engineering experts to help advise and replace the cable ties with a more permanent securing system".

Corzine’s best defense is an offensive rule

Oh,Wholesaler of different types of Ceramic tile for your kitchen, the tangled webs they wove at MF Global.Tru-Form Plastics is a one-stop shop for plastic Injection Molding, Their handiwork at the collapsed futures brokerage has tied up assets for thousands of account holders and hurt the integrity of the Chicago futures markets, damaging a signature industry here.

The craftiness was on display at three congressional hearings held this month, two of which were last week. Let’s be fair: No one has been charged with a crime,This page contains information about molds, not the firm’s ousted chairman and chief executive, Jon Corzine, nor Chief Operating Officer Bradley Abelow, nor Chief Financial Officer Henri Steenkamp. The Transaction Group offers the best high risk merchant account services,

All have now sworn to Congress that they weren’t involved in improper transfers from customer accounts and don’t know who was. An estimated $1.2 billion has disappeared that a bankruptcy trustee is trying to claw back, and the company’s three top executives profess ignorance. The statements were greeted with open skepticism from congressmen, politicians who are used to whoppers, but they still rendered the whole inquiry impotent. Despite the advantages of subpoena power and investigative staffs, no one on three congressional panels was able to tease much that’s useful from Corzine and his lieutenants.

Their language was precise.Spro Tech has been a plastic module & Mold Maker, Corzine said he never told anyone to “misuse” customer money. Abelow said he couldn’t recall “any conversation about customer funds being used for anything other than their intended purpose.” Steenkamp said he did not “authorize, approve or know of” any such transfers.

But deep in Corzine’s remarks is a clue of what his real argument will be if the matter ever goes to a trial. His secret weapon will be the laxity of the federal regulator that’s supposed to oversee futures trading, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

It’s known as Rule 1.25 and until the agency modified it after the MF Global scandal broke, it allowed brokerages to invest customer money in debt of foreign nations, the kind of bet that Corzine made.

A year ago, the CFTC thought about eliminating that loophole. It’s a great irony of the Washington insider game that Corzine and MF Global went on record as asking that the loophole be maintained in the name of padding profits.

Another irony: CME Group (CME), the exchange operator whose own behavior in this episode is under scrutiny, expressed the same view. It’s a profit-making company that has auditing responsibility for its customers, and MF Global was among its biggest.

CME has said the brokerage deceived its auditors, breaking federal law. But what incentive did it have to be tough? The triumvirate here — brokerage, regulator, exchanges — is too cozy. Market virtue is expensive, and Congress must decide if the futures industry needs to be taxed for protection from itself.

In the meantime, traders will wonder if Corzine et al. will ever spend a night in prison. On that score, his investments may already be paying dividends.

CLASH OF THE TITANS: It’s not exactly Coke vs. Pepsi or Ford vs. Chevy, but insurance analysts at William Blair & Co. published updates on their outlooks for Aon (AON) and Willis Group Holdings (WSH), the two insurance brokerages with large Chicago operations, and each with their name affixed to one of our skyscrapers. Which one is the better investment?

EU Hopes Fade As Gas Lobby Triumphs

European officials have repeatedly warned that closer ties through free trade and association agreements would not happen as long as opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko remains in jail on charges seen as politically motivated.

Many – but not all – observers think that President Viktor Yanukovych is calling the shots in the judicial assault on the former prime minister, a course of action that is undermining his own often-stated foreign policy priority of EU integration.

Tymoshenko was sentenced on Oct. 11 to seven years in prison for abuse of office in a 2009 gas deal she reached with Russia.

Instead of meeting EU demands that she be released and allowed to take part in the 2012 parliamentary elections, Yanukovych-loyal prosecutors have launched 10 criminal cases against her. In doing so, they have upped the ante in an escalating standoff with the West.

The questions being increasingly asked as Ukraine’s EU prospects dim are: Is the president himself spearheading the prosecutions against Tymoshenko and other opposition politicians?

Or is someone in the president’s inner circle talking him into a course of action that is derailing proposed deals with the EU, in turn setting the stage for Ukraine to fall deeper into Russia’s orbit of influence?

An increasing number of analysts, oppositionists, former top officials and critics say that evidence points to one group that is pushing Yanukovych to keep Tymoshenko in jail – the so-called natural gas lobby, which has for years been a partner of Russia’s Gazprom in the region’s multi-billion dollar gas trade.

US-Chinese Trade War on Solar Panels Killed Solyndra

November 17th was a cloudy day in Fremont, California. As the bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra scrambled to find bidders for the company’s assets, energy secretary Steven Chu spoke before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Solyndra’s failure. While that hearing became bogged down in political finger-pointing,This page contains information about molds, a separate investigation by the US Department of Commerce may uncover the true cause of Solyndra’s demise.

According to Steven Chu, the root cause of Solyndra’s failure was the falling cost of competitor’s photovoltaic cells, primarily from Chinese manufacturers. China has lent more than $34 billion to their domestic solar panel manufacturers, flooding the market and leading to a drop in the price per watt for solar panels – $1.20 a watt of capacity today, from $1.80 in January and $3.30 in 2008. Solyndra was unable to compete in the market due to this intense competition.

The US Department of Commerce’s investigation focuses on whether these subsidies violated international trade laws and led to a glut of solar panels on the US market. If China’s subsidies are found to be in violation, Solyndra will be declared a casualty of a trade war in renewable energy instead of a political albatross for the Obama administration. Without US subsidies on par with China’s, China can effectively flood the market and erode US manufacturing by gutting the US customer base. In the long run, it could lead to a Chinese monopoly on solar panel manufacturing,My advice on what to consider before you buy oil painting supplies so your money is well spent. and Chinese control of the larger solar energy industry.

Based on preliminary evidence, the Commerce Department is considering tariffs of 50 to 250 percent on Chinese solar panels. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, Chinese manufacturers are not optimistic about winning the case, and are considering their options. Some Chinese manufacturers plan to spread their production to South Korea, Taiwan and the United States to soften the blow of potential tariffs and gain favor in Washington. Other manufacturers are considering retaliation by filing trade cases of their own with China’s Commerce Ministry.Accept credit cards with a third party merchant account,

Targets for a tit-for-tat retaliation include filing a trade case against the polysilicon industry in the United States. Polysilicon is a key component for solar panels, and it requires vast amounts of electricity to produce. The United States is one of the largest exporters of polysilicon,Bathroom Floor tiles at Great Prices from Topps Tiles. making it a prime target for a retaliatory investigation.

The drop in solar panel prices has affected more then just Solyndra. In August, two other solar panel manufacturing firms declared bankruptcy, Evergreen Solar in Massachusetts and SpectraWatt in New York. Together, these three companies represent one-sixth of American manufacturing of solar panels. Solyndra may not be the first victim of this trade war in renewable energy, and policy makers and American solar panel manufacturers fear it may not be the last.

Church loses handmade chicken to fowl play

As capers go, the curious case of a church's missing plywood chickens is neither a stone-cold whodunit nor is it the crime of the century.the Aion Kinah by special invited artist for 2011,

They were separate acts committed years apart. They were straight snatch and grab jobs,As many processors back away from hydraulic hose , in all likelihood impromptu acts of tomfoolery perpetrated by college kids with a lot of time on their hands, a few frosty adult beverages in their bellies and ample display space in a dorm room or frat house.

They didn't rate calls to police and have generated a few jokes by the good-natured victims at Burkhead United Methodist Church, who've seen not one, but two of their promotional chickens fly the coop in the past few autumns.

Still, no matter how paltry (poultry?) the pilfering may be, it's causing some measure of heartburn and has created unnecessary hurdles for an annual fundraiser intended to help local charities.

Jerry Carter, a loyal parishioner who really took a shine to those chickens and the barbecue supper they were intended to promote,If so, you may have a cube puzzle . has the background.

A few years ago, somebody got the bright idea that the church would do more business with something that would grab attention along busy Silas Creek Parkway,If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards, he said.

A couple or three parishioners with creative skills (and an awesome set of tools) built a large bright yellow and red chicken from a sheet of plywood. They set it out, and though there's no spreadsheet to back it, anecdotally the chickens served their purpose by driving traffic to the church. (Why did the motorist cross the road? To get to the barbecue chicken.) "Basically they were the chicken version of Ronald McDonald," said Carter.

Aaron Shough, a woodworker who cut out the bird from a drawing made by another parishioner, threw out the first wisecrack when asked about that first chicken.

"It was a nice rooster," he said. "I guess it took wing and flew away. This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their Floor tiles ."

That chicken was stolen, though, and the parishioners built another, smaller bird. When that one was judged to be too (chicken) little, they built a third, a 6-footer, that they still have, bringing the population of the flock up to two.

In a theft similar to the first, the smaller one was removed from the church grounds in late October, a week or so before this year's sale.

Stealing plywood chickens is not an earth-shaking event. Nobody got killed, and no one was injured. But small things do matter.

"I just assumed it was some kind of a fraternity prank or something," said Thornie Worley, a parishioner with an art studio who designed the chickens and helped paint them. "It does get a little tiresome to think about having to redo those things.

"There are so many drastic problems in the world, and this is straight out of the Andy Griffith Show. We do have a sense of humor, but it took a long time to make those things."

A Sunday school class that wanted to serve a larger purpose donated their time to do something to better their community and got fleeced. Church members raise money for small, very local charities such as food pantries, the kinds of places that don't have big PR machines or enormous budgets.

That matters, and that's why what was likely a spur-of-the-moment prank rankles.

"It bothers me that anyone would steal, and it's magnified by why anyone would steal from a church," Shough said. "It serves no purpose."

For those “too chicken to plunge,” there’s something new at the event. “This year our Plunge has something called a Chicken Coop,” Horton said.which applies to the first offshore merchant account only, “You can still support Special Olympics New York and you won’t even have to dip a big toe in the water. Receive the same incentives as the plungers while staying cozy warm and dry! To raise money for the Special Olympics, participants are encouraged to obtain sponsors.

“Each Plunge participant who registers online ahead of time gets his/her own personal plunge page with a personalized link,” Horton said.

Plungers can then send the link via e-mail or through social media to ask for donations from friends, family, co-workers. Participant who raise $100 will receive the official Polar Plunge sweatshirt.

The Lake George event is one of a dozen plunges throughout New York that raise nearly $1 million for the Special Olympics, Horton said.

Tariff cuts eclipse household solar panel benefits

THE Baillieu government has quietly cut access for most households to a second incentive to install new rooftop solar panels.Replacement China Porcelain tile and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide.

It follows the decision last month to slash the state's ''premium'' feed-in tariff paid by retailers for rooftop solar from 60 to 25 a kilowatt for power fed into the grid.

Under the changes, the government will also restrict access to the state's ''standard'' feed-in tariff - in place since 2004 - for new solar panel systems generating less than five kilowatts, the lion's share of installations.

The standard feed-in tariff requires electricity retailers to pay households and businesses that install renewable-energy systems generating up to 100 kW the same price for energy fed into the grid as they charge for power taken out,Our high risk merchant account was down for about an hour and a half, which is typically between 20 and 24 a kilowatt.

The changes mean households installing smaller solar systems will now only be able to apply for the ''transitional'' 25 tariff in place for five years.we supply all kinds of polished tiles, The standard tariff does not have a cut-off date.

Critics of the feed-in tariffs argue that they increase the cost to all electricity consumers as energy retailers bear the main costs.

The changes took the Clean Energy Council by surprise, with policy director Russell Marsh saying the group only learnt about it late on Thursday night when legislation for the 25 tariff reached Parliament.

That is despite discussions with the Department of Primary Industries over several months about the future of Victoria's feed-in tariffs.ceramic Floor tiles for the medical,

A spokeswoman for Energy Minister Michael O'Brien said: ''When the transitional feed-in tariff is introduced from 1 January, the standard feed-in tariff will not be available to customers who are eligible for the transitional feed-in tariff. If any food cube puzzle condition is poorer than those standards,

''The rate of 25 will be the second-most-generous legislated rate in Australia.''

The state government will commission the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission to inquire into the design of future feed-in tariffs, with a report expected to be completed in 2012.

The opposition's energy spokeswoman, Lily D'Ambrosio, said: ''It is becoming more evident that the Baillieu government is forcing the small-scale solar energy industry to take a long walk over a very short cliff to its possible demise next year.''

Business a sleeping giant for Michelle Marciniak

Former Tennessee women's basketball player Michelle Marciniak and Susan Walvius were talking about the comfort and feel of a pair of athletic shorts. Walvius, then the coach at South Carolina, said, "I'd love to sleep in this stuff."

Marciniak, a Gamecocks assistant coach, replied: "Let's do it."

Well, that was easy.

"A lot of people have great ideas,'' Marciniak said. "But it takes that next step. How do you do that? How do you bring it to life?"

That's not so easy, especially for two women who were coaches, not entrepreneurs.

Marciniak, the MVP of the Final Four in 1996, described the time and effort involved with creating substance out of their aformentioned conversation in 2007 as "enormous." The return on their investment is turning out to be pretty big as well.

Their company, SHEEX, Inc., produces bedding crafted from performance athletic fabrics and engineered to enhance the quality of people's sleep. The company has partnered with the National Sleep Foundation and is now available in 853 Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide.

Walvius and Marciniak no longer are coach and assistant coach. Instead, they're business partners who have learned to complement each other in their shared venture.

"Michelle is probably more like Pat Summitt,'' said Walvius, referring to Tennessee's coach, "in your face, no tolerance at all. I talk people through things.

"... I'm a processor. She relies on her instincts, and they're good instincts."

Marciniak related the personal investment to her Tennessee hoops career and the demands of playing for an ambitious program.

"You have those days when you walk away from practice and you think, 'I don't know if I can do this anymore.' " she said. "You always get up the next day and you always show up at practice. You lace 'em up. You don't quit."

For Marciniak and Walvius, such determination has equated to making another phone call, making a new contact or revisiting someone in search of expertise.

For example, Marciniak described the search for their chosen fabric as if they were searching for a missing person.

"Any fabric out there is not proprietary,'' she said. "But it's kind of a secret world. It's like "I'm not helping you with anything.' "

The manufacturing side of their enterprise wasn't so cloistered but it was no less frustrating. They rejected countless samples, some with garish gold trim, before finding the right factory.

Athletes constitute an obvious clientele, since they can relate best to the fabric's breathe-ability and temperature control and will grasp for any edge in their performance. Several professionals offer their endorsements on the company's website.

Using the word "performance" in relation to their bedding in a recent online blog opened another market - men interested in a better sexual experience. They initiated a sudden online run on the product.

"It cracked us up,'' Marciniak said. "Our blackberries were buzzing for two days. Jay Leno would have a field day with this."

Better sleep is the main idea, along with becoming the best company. A line of sleepwear is in the works to go with their bedding. Marciniak, the entrepreneur, still sounded very much like a former player and coach in saying: "We're not trying to win a couple of games. We're playing for a championship."
