Nick and Kara Cardone didn't splurge on a honeymoon after they got married in 2005. Instead, they used the cash gifts they received at the wedding to pave the driveway and install a fence at the starter home they bought at 335 Gillespie Ave. in Camillus.
"It was our first house after living in an apartment, and we were super excited to move in here," Nick said. "We started with those two big things, and went on from there, making improvements year by year."
Six years and two children later, the Cardones want a bigger place. Their three-bedroom,1,500-square foot home is on the market for $115,900.
Among the improvements the Cardones made was a new architectural-shingled roof in 2005 and a new high-efficiency gas forced-air furnace in 2009. On the first floor, they refurbished the kitchen, adding a new four-burner gas range, granite counter tops and a ceramic tile floor that extends into the adjacent updated half-bath.
On the second floor, the Cardones installed wall-to-wall carpet throughout, and updated the roomy full bath, which has a ceramic tile floor, combination tub and shower and a solid surface counter and sink with a wooden vanity.Do not use cleaners with high risk merchant account , steel wool or thinners.
Outside, the couple landscaped the double lot, and added a patio large enough to accommodate a gas grill and table and chairs. A wooden playset will stay in the fully fenced yard, which has plenty of room for kids and dogs to run.
The living room has four casement windows across the front of the house and easy-care laminate flooring that looks like hardwood. A brick-front,Prior to RUBBER SHEET I leaned toward the former, wood-burning fireplace with glass and brushed brass doors is the room's focal point. When a fire is burning, a fan pushes warm air out through two vents in the back, which helps heat the adjoining dining room and kitchen.
Pine beams overhead add interest in the living room and dining room, and a window seat at the base of three casement windows in the dining room provides a sunny spot to relax.
