Flooding continues Monday in Arkansas

Rising flood waters and more rain continue to plague Arkansas.

Stephen Hawks with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Department says all the low-lying areas around Lake Conway are flooding. That's from Mayflower to south of Vilonia. It is not a mandatory evacuation but they are encouraging everyone who lives in those areas to pack up and get out.

The Faulkner County S.P.C.A. is need of supplies for their rescued animals. "Rescue pets are not being moved from the Don Owens Sports Complex. However, they are in need of dry bedding for the animals and cedar chips for horses. Also, the roof on the complex is damaged and tarps are needed."

Prairie County authorities have issued an evacuation notice for residents in the flood prone areas east of the White River in the Des Arc and Biscoe Areas. The roads in the area will soon be impassable due to flooding.

The Red Cross has opened a shelter for those who have been displaced at the Maumelle Community Center at 1100 Edgewood Drive.
